Aquiares is Costa Rica’s largest coffee farm in a single unit. Founded in 1890, it dedicates 20% of its land to conservation, and produces specialty coffee under the Rainforest Alliance sustainability standards, and has achieved Carbon Neutrality as a company since 2016. But Aquiares is not only a coffee farm, it is also a community of 2000 people, a coffee research station, eco-tourism destination and a nature preserve.
